Comments: Greetings "Cornwall"! The other day I was looking at an old book of 'Heavyweight Boxing Champions' in which we each had listed our Top 10 (we both had Ali first, of course). I watched Black Robe for the dozenth time last evening. I believe it is the most beautifully photographed film ever. You and I haven't communicated since 1974, but I will never forget my first scene at the Guthrie (as one of Lear's knights) where I rushed onto the stage with my group, and you as Cornwall was standing on the far-side from me. You locked your eyes on mine, and half drew your sword. I then did the same. You took the time to give a young extra his first "stage business" and I will be forever grateful (the boxing moves you taught me also came in quite handy over the years!). You are a kind and generous man, and an outstanding actor. Many thanks for being such a huge part of a then-19 year old's best year of his life. Jesse Lykken |
