So long Cookie, even though I did not get to see you much over the years, the few times I got to meet up with you were special. The name Cookie was used over 35 years ago by close friends and family. I am the grandson to Marcel Roger and the son to Robert Roger. August's first daughter Sophie, would often say at my grandparents place which August had to travel, until at some point our family took in Sophie full time. I didn't even know that she was not my blood aunt until my mid 20's, but she is family to us no matter what, and so was August. Last time we met up was on the third floor of the TIFF building downtown Toronto 2 years ago, he was passing through during the TIFF festival on his way to Ottawa for a Shakespeare play he was head lining.. We had lunch talked a bit.

Being in the film industry myself, I would have loved to have worked with Cookie, but atlas it did not come to pass. Farwell August, may you have open arms where ever you are, and hopeful your next journey is just as fruitful and great as this one was for you, you will be missed by all..
